The GOD of ASTRONOMY and The CHRISTIAN

THEY MADE HISTORY: Four astronauts - Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover, Christina Koch, and Jeremy Hansen - performed the unimaginable feat of discovering the backside of the moon, which no human in history had ever discovered. They safely arrived on Earth, Friday evening, April 10, 2026, splashing down in the Pacific Ocean just off the coast of San Diego at 5.07 pm (Pacific Time). They also achieved the farthest distance from Earth traveled by anyone at 252,756 miles! In ten days, they had ventured into the abyss of cosmic darkness and returned at a total cockpit voyage of over 700,237 miles. Whoa!

I am not sure if you are an astronomer: People who study the universe and the cosmic realms. Neither am I sure if you've ever been to space. My response is as good as yours. But King David of old was a cosmic exception to us both! That guy was a seer. He saw into what our astronomers are just discovering in 2026. He saw by the spirit of GOD.

No one could ever fathom his deep thoughts when he penned Psalms 8:

"O Lord, our God, how excellent is your name in all the earth. You Who set Your glory above the Heavens ..." You placed Earth into spatial constellation in its orbit and flung the stars, the planets, and their Milky Ways into being without human consultation. He continued:

"When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, the moon and the stars which You have ordained; What is man that thou hast mindful of him, and the son of man, that You visited him ..."

A few things are worthy of notice about this GOD and His predetermined disposition toward us:

1.) Whatever it is that we think about the stars, the moons, the galaxies, the nebulae, the Milky Ways, and all the other worlds in space, these are the masterpieces of the Creator GOD!

2.) If the Creator-GOD is the Supermasterpiece-Designer, so are we, each of His begotten children. There is no stopping us from conceiving supernatural ideas for our beautiful existence upon planet Earth. In other words, there should be no barrier strong enough to prevent us from conceiving and executing divine masterpieces!

3.) Human beings are the apex of God's creation! GOD has bestowed an unimaginable amount of greatness and love upon us! He made us the ace of His creation. Do you wonder, therefore, why we humans are the most intelligent beings? God made us so! Artificial Intelligence does not come in comparison. That is a profound truth!

AI is known to be the smartest creation of humans. Who knows, maybe in the next twenty ot twenty-five years, there may be other inventions that would beat AI. Even then, nothing will be able to connect and relate with GOD intellectually and spiritually. That is mind boggling. That brings me to the next point.

4.) Now, despite the vastness of the unending dark ocean of the universe, God still found it relevant to relate with us on an individual basis! That is huge! He relates to our spirit encased in our bodies and minds. It should come as no surprise to you, therefore, that there is no other created being anywhere else that possesses the incredible body that we possess! No wonder the Apostle Paul, writing to the Corinthians, wrote that our bodies were primarily created to be inhabited by God's Spirit |1 Corinthians 6:12-20.

"Do you not know that your bodies were purchased?" Specifically purchased by the inestimable blood of God's Son Jesus Christ the Righteous?

What ought our unilateral response be?

"Glorify God in your mortal bodies."

How do you do that?

Engage the body rightly!

God gave Adam the top job in the Garden of Eden to upkeep, update, and maintain it. Sounds like a tough job to do? No!

Adam did everything that God told him to do, until the sin of treachery came and robbed him and Eve of everything that God created for them to enjoy. Don't be like Adam today. Maintain, upkeep, sanctify, holify, and honor God in your physical body. It is the home of the Holy Spirit - the third Person of the Triune Godhead! Maintain, upkeep, sanctify, holify, and honor God in your physical body.

How do you maintain the body?

a.) Eat well, rest well, think well, exercise well, see/look well, speak well, dress well, walk and talk well - among a thousand and one 'wells' there are. Doing contrary to the temple ultimately will degrade the main reason for which God had loaned it to you!

b.) Emotionally and psychologically, stay fit in your mind. First, read and meditate upon the Scriptures. Exercise the mind by setting attainable challenges. Learn new things; memorize new scriptural portions. Engage in charitable works. Meet other believers for fellowship and warmth. Encourage others who are doing valiantly - or struggling to be valiant! Strengthen the weak hands and make firm the feeble knees, as God had advised Prophet Isaiah (35:3-5). Comfort the broken-hearted (40:1-2). These are some of the ways God intended the world to go around.

c.) Keep a healthy body, wash the body, cleanse the body, put balm on the body, perfume the body, and maintain the body. Be presentable as the temple of God that you are, and let nothing stop you from doing all that God has called you to do and be! Let's all usher in the new season of spring with springs in our heels and a song on our lips as we put these thoughts into practice!
